Thursday, April 26th, at 6:30PMThis month's Continuation Lecture is Thursday, April 26th, 6:30 pm in Virginia Hall. Robert Siegel, MS, will present, "The Hidden Stress Factor in Metabolic Syndrome: New Understanding, New Tools & The Refresh Button Stress Remedy," by Robert Siegel, MS.
A renowned Stress Specialist, author and mind/body wellness innovator, Robert Simon Siegel, MS will present a behind-the-scenes look at how one physiological event, the stress damage chain reaction, single-handedly worsens and can even cause hypertension, diabetes and obesity as well as block our bodies' healing abilities.

- February 28th, 2012 Lecture: Thursday, February 28th, Dr Sunil Sinha speaking on Hypertension. An informative lecture on causes, risk factors, treatment options, and complications. Dr. Sunil Sinha is the Chief Medical Officer for both Memorial Regional Medical Center and Richmond Community Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. - January 26th, 2012 Lecture: Thursday, January 26th, at 6:30PM, ZG's own Ryan Beck, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, is one of ZG's fitness directors, and is a certified Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine, will explain how to use your VO2 to plan an effective workout. More specifically, he'll detail the different training zones to accomplish the following: Increase Cardio-Respiratory Health, Improve Energy Levels, Lose Weight, Improve Metabolism.
- December 15th, 2011 Lecture: Thursday, December 15th, at 6:30PM, join Dr. Fred J. McGlynn, for a discussion on management options for arthritis of the hip and knee - conservative & less invasive options. titled: "Staying Active With Arthritis", Dr. McGlynn is a member of the Joint Reconstruction team
at Tuckahoe Orthopaedics. He specializes in joint replacement

April 28th, 2011 Lecture: April Continuation Lecture will feature guest speaker, Jennifer Ferguson, MD, Internal Medicine, of Partner MD and will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 6:30pm in Virginia Hall. Dr. Ferguson will be speaking on common health issues associated with aging, titled "Snap, Crackle and Pop - Healthy aging for your muscles, bones and joints" and incorporate metabolism changes and other health aging issues. July 2010 Lecture: Don’t miss this month’s Continuation lecture, "Good Sleep: A Key Ingredient to Good Health," on Thursday, July 22nd at 11AM and 6PM! We are pleased to present Dr. Ned Cornman of the Sleep Disorder Centers of Va. We will discuss the biologic necessity of sleep, common sleep problems and the effects of sleep deprivation on daytime functioning and metabolism that favor gaining weight and make it exceedingly hard to be successful at losing weight over the long haul.
June 2010 Lecture: Don’t miss this month’s Continuation lecture on Thursday, June 17th! Presenting Dr. Michael Strachan, top-rated Richmond Rheumatologist (Richmond magazine Top Docs) and his associate, Dr. Tammy Spring here at ZG to discuss issues surrounding Rheumatoid Arthritis. April 2010 Lecture: Dr. Robert Petry, Clinical Psychologist specializing in addiction; Titled "Putting Brain Power On Your Platter, Mind Over Batter". A general discussion of mood, brain chemistry of emotion, food addiction and behavior modification.
March 2010 Lecture: Certified Trainer, Motivator, Traveler and ZG Staff, Wanda Mills (“Wicked Wanda”): Titled: “Working Out…of a Suitcase”. Wanda, a frequent flier herself, demonstrated many creative ways to get your strength and cardio workout in during any vacation or work travel and provided many meal planning and restaurant ordering tips and helpful info.
February 2010 Lecture: Dr. Madge Zacharias, Bariatrics Specialist; Titled: “A 10 Week Program Mini Review of Important Tips to Maintain you Success for Life”; Madge discussed plateaus, changing it up, sticking to an eating plan, the importance of pre-planning, and a quick review of blood sugar control/reversing Insulin Resistance basics.
