Zacharias Ganey Health Institute (ZG) specializes in weight management and lifestyle change, by providing health related education, progressive physical activity, and a myriad of supports.

The ZG KEY (Knowledge, Energy and You) Healthy Lifestyle Change Program was designed to help ZG members lead a healthier, more active life, including helping members boost metabolism, lose weight, reduce medications, improve body composition, and take ownership of their health. The main purpose of the ZG KEY Program is to not only help members achieve optimal personal success by giving them the necessary tools and support, but also to assist in removing obstacles to healthy habits.

Since 2002, over 10,000 people from all walks of life and from over a hundred mile radius come to ZG for the ZG KEY Program. After the first ten weeks of the more intensive phase, most continue on as program members in order to make their new health habits permanent.

Some members with specific health conditions such as chronic pain, orthopedic disorders, arthritis, and fibromyalgia travel from afar to enjoy the large, heated shallow pool at our Ginter Park location.

ZG has two locations, one in the Ginter Park area on the Northside of Richmond and one in Chesterfield on the Southside of Richmond. At ZG we are proud to serve the health and wellness needs of Richmond and the surrounding community.

Our Mission

Zacharias Ganey Health Institute’s mission is to empower individuals to take control of their health and improve their quality of life through medical and nutrition education, individual counseling, group support, supervised group strength and cardio training, and continuous follow-up and accountability.

About the Founders

Mary Jane Zacharias Ganey and Dr. Madge Zacharias

Zacharias Ganey Health Institute was founded by Madge Zacharias, MD, former Richmond pediatrician and current member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Dr. Zacharias co-manages ZG with her sister, Mary Jane Ganey, former educator, CPA and business/marketing strategist.

Dr. Rodney GaneyRodney Ganey, non-managing founding partner of ZG and principal investor, has been with ZG since its inception. Madge and Mary Jane have been fortunate to have the support of this outstanding leader in the healthcare industry. Rodney   recognizes that ZG’s unique health care model provides an affordable, "all under one roof" approach to preventive health. ZG also provides an affordable way to reverse or mitigate the many health issues and diseases associated with overweight, abnormal eating, and the sedentary, American lifestyle.
